Why This Might Be The Best Water Dispenser

There are many different types and brands of water dispensers. I will like to do a fair review and select what I think might be the best. This review is done in 2013 and is solely my opinion and any future water dispenser is not included in this review.
To make it a fair process, I will like to review the different types of water dispensers first. From there, I will select which I think is the best type. Then I will pick popular brands of that particular water dispenser type and choose the best.

Let’s see how many different types of water dispensers first:

  1. Water barrel type top load water dispenser
  2. Water barrel type bottom load water dispenser
  3. Direct pipe water dispenser with hot and cold water
  4. Direct pipe water dispenser with hot and cold water with water filtration.
  5. Water dispenser barrel type with water filter

Why This Might Be The Best Water Dispenser

So let us talk about each and every water dispenser starting with:

1. Water barrel type top load water dispenser

This type of water dispensers are used ages ago. A big 40 pound plastic bottle is filled with clean water and attached to a dispenser with a hot and cold water function. Water is usually filtered already by the water companies and then delivered to your home or office upon each order. There is a minimum order of at least 5 barrels each time. It is a hassle to store them and tiring to call the water companies all the time. The plastic bottles are very heavy and many known incidents happen when attempting to attach to the water dispenser. While it is good to note that the water is clean and potable, many customers still end up paying a lot in the long term due to dependency on the water barrels.

2. Water barrel type bottom load water dispenser

This is a slight improvement from the first we mentioned. The only difference is that instead of loading the plastic water barrel on the top, it can be loaded at the bottom. While It removes the hassle and extra effort to load the water dispenser at the top, the remaining problems of storing and calling the water companies are still present. And not to forget, the long term costs of ordering water barrels. Also, it is good to note that these plastic bottle are not environmental friendly and made of non biodegradable materials.

3. Direct pipe water dispenser with hot and cold water

A big improvement from the first two, no more water barrels and long term costs. Say hello to water from the pipe like your tap water. Good thing is that the dispenser has a hot and cold function and water is boiled first to eliminate virus and bacteria before it is stored into a water tank in the dispenser itself. This is a great model as it provides a lot of convenience without all the hassle and troubles. The only thing is that, can you guarantee the water source is safe even after boiling? Although boiling water at 100 degrees celcius kills most micro organisms, viruses and bacteria, there might still be some lurking inside. Toxic and pesticides cannot be removed after boiling water, a proper water filtration system is required. Although this is a very good water dispenser, still the water quality is uncertain. A trip to the hospital after consuming unclean water is not worth it. For this reason alone, I won’t recommend buying this type of water dispenser.

4. Direct pipe water dispenser with hot and cold water with water filtration.

Now we are talking sense. This is a slight improvement from the previous mentioned water dispenser as it includes it’s very own water filtration system. There are two main types of water filtration systems, Ultra filtration and Reverse osmosis. Usually the any of the 2 types of filtration system consists of 5 processes, namely, Post carbon block water filter to remove odors and the water taste better, t33 filter to remove contaminants and bacteria, Polypropylene filter to remove fine particle, ultra violet light to sterilize and disinfect the water and finally either the Ultra filter membrane or Reverse Osmosis membrane to further filter micro organisms.

With these filtration processes in place, how clean is the water? Water is pure at ph7 without chlorine and fluorine. This type of water dispenser also comes with a hot or cold water function which water is further boiled and stored in a water tank till dispensed.

5. Water dispenser barrel type with water filter

We can’t be serious about this. After we talked about the number 4, this is a joke. Are the water companies not confidant about their own water filtration systems? Why bother attaching a water filter inside the water barrel? We are still paying for your expensive water for the water barrels in the long term, don’t these water companies get it? Please do not use this water dispenser even if it is free.

Conclusion

I’m sure you already know the answer but I have to say it anyway, the best type of water dispenser as at 2013 is the Direct pipe water dispenser with hot and cold water with water filtration.

Save much more money with this one time investment. Do not worry about filter maintenance as these are easier and smaller to store and replace. Filter change is usually only twice a year and the costs are below $10 per filter. Talk about convenience, boiling hot water or ice cold water anytime!

While it may be difficult to choose which brand to buy, I do recommend the following normal shopping procedure:

  1. Low price
  2. Beautiful and attractive
  3. Warranty period

So I came across this company which sells this type of water dispenser at only $488. Talk about cheap, and they provide a one year warranty with the option to further extend another year at a low fee. The company is 828 water dispenser singapore, do check them out when you have the time. I do not doubt about their quality as I do understand that Singapore has the one of the highest standard of cleanliness and quality products in the world.
